Concept week 4: Report Thoughtcrime

This weeks concept post is my imagining of the Though Police from George Orwells dystopian masterpeice 1984. The aim was to create the sort of officer that would storm your house in the night and grab you as you sleep. Immoral thugs of INGSOC.

I'm relativley happy with the final design. I feel the logo for INGSOC (Thinkspeak for 'English Socialism') is quite a strong element. Due to the reductionist nature of INGSOC I wittled down the Union Jack into the corner and used the colours that tend to be favoured by facists black and red.

Alien Concept W2

Heres one of the designs Im toying with for this weeks concept brief. To fully accomplish the brief set I should paint this in some space suit of some sort which I will if i can make the time. I wanted to play around with creating some unusual anatomy without making it look too monsterous. I have lots of niggles with the design but am satisfied to leave it where it is.

LHC Rupture suit

The first post from a new partnership with another artist dabbling with the idea of one day moving into the field of concept art. We will be giving each other weekly briefs along with deadlines and critiques.

This first design is based around the brief of an 'enviroment suit'. This suit is designed to enter into an area where space and time are compromised by the fallout of a disasterous Large Hadron Collider accident. The idea that is is capable of moving through the dilation and distortions in time as a water balloon moving through a stream. The suit is a half way design between an old diving suit and some aesthetics from the LHC itself.

Clover

Here's a recent commision I did for a small buisiness called Clover. The requirment was for it to simply feature clovers. I did a few designs that overloaded the image so in the end simplicity was best. They seemed pleased with it.
